I think YUM, it was delicious and I will certainly cook this again. It was very easy to make which I was pleased with. I did think the sauce a little stronger but maybe next time I could soften it by reducing the oyster sauce. What do you think. Again great

FAQs

Do you boil noodles before adding to stir fry? ›

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles until they are about 1 to 2 minutes from done, according to package instructions. They should be very al dente, still a little too firm to eat, but not excessively hard and chewy. Drain and toss with 1/2 tablespoon of the oil to prevent sticking.

Do you add stir fry sauce before or after noodles? ›

Next add crunchy veg like carrots and peppers. Then add your protein. Next into the wok are soft veggies and your choice of noodles or rice. Finally, add your favourite Blue Dragon Stir Fry Sauce.

Do you need to boil instant stir fry noodles? ›

Boiling noodles is important before adding them to a stir fry! Ramen noodles cook quickly, usually taking only 2 minutes, longer if they are gluten free. Careful not to overcook or they can end up really chewy/soggy. Add the olive/vegetable oil, minced garlic, scallions and grated ginger to a pan.

What kind of noodles are good for stir fry? ›

Any noodle can be a stir-fry candidate. If this is your first noodle stir-fry, stick with standard lo-mein egg noodles — preferably fresh noodles, if you can find them. They are easy to work with and make a great stir-fry.

Why are my stir fry noodles always soggy? ›

Stir fry cooks fast and hot so make sure you are using your heaviest frying pan or wok and are stirring continuously. Don't overload your wok as the ingredients will become soggy. You can cook things in batches if necessary, for example, you can cook the protein first and set it aside to add back in later.

How to cook dry noodles for stir fry? ›

Cook the dried noodles according to the packet instructions. If using dried rice noodles, I like to “cook” them simply by pouring over plenty of boiling water and leaving them in a bowl for 5 minutes or so. As with most recipes, it's better to use fresh rather than dried noodles.

Do you cook in stir fry sauce or add it after? ›

Finally, always remember to add liquid only after everything is more or less finished cooking. A proper sauce for stir-fries combines something salty—soy sauce, usually, though fish sauce also works—with something a little bit sweet.

When should you add soy sauce in stir fry? ›

Add soy sauce midway for that perfect cook.

How to stop stir fry noodles from sticking together? ›

To stir-fry rice noodles without sticking, it's important to use high heat. High heat will help to quickly cook the noodles and prevent them from becoming soggy and sticking together. It's also important to continuously toss the noodles in the pan to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.

How to make chicken noodles taste better? ›

If you want your chicken noodles to taste better, I'd recommend the following:
  1. Adding vegetables - I don't know what you have on hand, but celery, carrots, and sauteed onions would be a good start for a chicken-noodle-soup vibe. ...
  2. Balancing the seasoning - Most chicken noodle soups in my experience are too salty.

Should you rinse stir-fry noodles? ›

The same goes for Asian noodles that you might use in a stir-fry dish, such as udon or soba noodles. These types of noodles should always be rinsed under cold water after cooking, even if you're going to serve them hot. This helps them to not feel slimy and keeps them a bit firmer.

What is the best oil for stir fry noodles? ›

Are stir fry noodles the same as lo mein? ›

The process of stir-frying fully cooks the noodles along with the remaining ingredients. In contrast, lo mein noodles are completely cooked before getting mixed in with the meat, vegetables and sauce. Instead of getting stir-fried, the lo mein ingredients are lightly mixed and tossed.

What kind of noodles do Chinese people use? ›

Do you cook rice noodles before adding to stir fry? ›

Unlike wheat pasta, you don't need to boil rice noodles; the warm water is enough to cook them through. Once they are soft, you can drain them and add them to your stir-fry, soup, or another dish. Be sure to cook them thoroughly before eating, as uncooked rice noodles can be a bit chewy.

What happens if you put noodles in before boiling? ›

In fact, starting your pasta in cold water has a myriad of benefits: It takes less energy to heat, it takes less time since the noodles come to a boil with the water, and you end up with concentrated starchy cooking water that gives a silky, creamy finish to pasta sauces.

Should you stir pasta as it boils? ›

Stir the pasta right after you add it to the water and then occasionally throughout the cooking time to prevent clumping. If you don't stir, any strands of touching pasta will cook together and become stuck together. Stirring also ensures that the pasta is cooked evenly.
