With hopes of spending more time outside, we started working on our raised garden beds this past weekend. The kids are out of their Montessori school and we hope to teach them about gardening while giving them new responsibilities.

DIY Raised Garden Beds -Ten Raised Garden Bed Tutorials
There are several things to consider when designing your raised garden beds. First, what area of your yard gets the most sun? What kind of budget are you working with? Do you want a small or large garden? I plan to share my garden with you, but every garden should be designed while keeping your own needs in mind. That is why I am sharing ten different types of DIY raised garden beds today.
1 // Jennifer Rizzo // Raised Bed Stock Tank Galvanized Planter
Jennifer Rizzo took a stock tank and converted it into a raised garden bed. She used blocks to elevate the tank and provide support. By drilling holes, she allowed for proper drainage. Go check out her tutorial here.
2 // Making it in the Mountains // How to Build your own DIY Raised Garden Bed
For this project, Kristi from Making it in the Mountains used cedar boards to construct her raised garden beds. She used 2x2s in the corners and attached them along the longer boards as well. You can follow her tutorial here.
3 // Love Our Real Life // Tips for Growing Tomatoes and Other Veggies in a Small Raised Garden Bed
April of Love Our Real Life used a raised bed kit for her project. She provides several tips for growing your garden, like selecting a spot, removing grass, choosing soil, and a diagram for planting her vegetables. You can read more about her garden and tutorial here.
4 // My 100 Year Old Home // How to Build Raised Vegetable Beds
Leslie from My 100 Year Old Home has very detailed instructions on her blog for making raised garden beds. She placed her garden beds on concrete, so she filled the bottoms with rocks to ensure proper drainage. You can read her full tutorial here.
5 // Dreaming of Homemaking // DIY Raised Garden
Next up is Sarah from Dreaming of Homemaking. She also used stock tanks to build her raised garden. She drilled holes in the bottom of the tanks and filled them with stones to enhance drainage. You can follow along with her process on her blog here.

Stephanie Rose has an amazing website devoted to gardening. She converted her lawn into a very large garden and she provides detailed instructions on her website. Laura from Inspiration for Moms shares a different way of making a raised garden. She used pavers with multiple layers to create her garden beds. You can follow along with her project on her website here.
8 // Anika’s DIY Life // DIY Tiered Raised Garden Bed
Anika has full printable plans on her website for building a tiered raised garden bed. She also has videos sharing the entire process. Head over to her website here and find out how she made this awesome garden bed.
9 // Houseful of Handmade // DIY Vertical Garden with Drip Watering System
This tutorial by Houseful of Handmade is amazing because she shares how to include a drip watering system. Also, it is vertical and allows for those with small spaces to garden efficiently. You will find her tutorial here on her website.
10 // Madness and Method // Building a Raised Garden Bed
Nicole of Madness & Method designed her garden beds using leftover lumber. Her tutorial includes making stakes to drive down in the ground. She also built a small shelf in the back, how unique! You can find her tutorial here.
