Erika Amano (天野 エリカ, Amano Erika) is the main female protagonist of the A Couple of Cuckoos manga series. She is a popular Instagram celebrity who is the biological daughter of the family that raised Nagi. She first meets him while taking videos at a park, and makes him pretend to be her boyfriend to escape from an arranged marriage. Her parents arrange for her to be engaged to Nagi and for them to live together in a single house. After her school discovers the pictures she took with him, she is forced to transfer to Nagi's school.

Appearance[]
Erika has purple eyes and long reddish-blond hair, which she usually wears in pigtails tied with brown ribbons. Occasionally, she wears her hair in braids instead. She also has red pearl stud earrings.
At her original school, her uniform was a brown seraf*cku (sailor uniform), while at her current school she wears a blazer-based uniform.

At first glance, Erika can be seen as a spoiled child who leads a carefree life. Even though she didn't like to rely on any other, she wouldn't mind if it is Nagi Umino for helping her out in many ways. She also has a caring personality when she kindly talks to Sachi Umino.

Nagi Umino[]
They met when Erika was going to create a scandalous video but Nagi ended up stopping her. Later, they find out that they were the babies who were swapped at birth, and both their parents agreed to arrange their marriage hence, they decided to get along with their families. Nagi and Erika end up being closer as acquaintances after they learned more about each other when they were forced to live with each other for a fortnight.
There are some hints that Erika may have developed feelings for him, but it is not confirmed.
On the 108th fowl, following the events of the M1 contest, their relationship takes a step forward as Erika kisses Nagi on the lips, resulting in a very embarrassed Nagi.
On the 110th fowl, Nagi learns that Erika loves him.
On the 111th fowl, Nagi tells Erika that he loves her too.
On the 112th fowl, Nagi and Erika will talk to Souichirou Amano so that Erika doesn't move, at that moment Nagi confesses that he fell in love with her during the time they lived together to which the father gives them an option of how it will be from now on to which they both accept to be able to continue together.
However, on the 122nd fowl, after reaching the first place at the school ranking, Nagi started dating Hiro, and on 124th fowl, Erika gets upset with that, and then starts to avoid both of them.
Sachi Umino[]
Sachi didn't exactly like Erika at first but after getting to know her more, she starts to like her and would visit Nagi Umino and Erika's place just to see Erika. Sachi also accepts Erika as her biological sister is also pretty close to Erika.
Hiro Segawa[]
When Erika transfers to Nagi Umino's school, Hiro was the first person to reach out to her. Erika and Hiro become close friends and it turns out the Hiro was also a fan of Erika since she follows her on Instagram. Hiro is part of the study group with Erika along with Nagi and enjoys helping her study.
Ai Mochizuki[]
Erika was at first jealous at Ai for asking Nagi to marry her but later liked her when they found out she was a great singer.
