Introduction Arc[]

Ryosuke Kira/Synopsis (1)

Much like every player in Blue Lock, he also received an invitation for a "player improvement project." Before entering Blue Lock, he meets Yoichi Isagi from Ichinan High.

After hearing Ego's eccentric opening remarks, Ryosuke Kira showed his disapproval. Kira believes that his high school team is his main priority, especially since they'll participate in the nationals. He stated that he cannot accept the terms and conditions of Blue lock as such will equal throwing away his team. After this, several players also agreed to what Kira said. Jinpachi Ego, however, could not care less with their opposition. Ego remarked that to be the striker in the world, one must drown themselves in greed. On the other hand, Kira believes that team play is more important.

Once inside Blue Lock, players are divided into several shared rooms. Ryosuke Kira is assigned to the room, and a group called Team Z. Inside the room was a TV screen. After a few minutes, Ego appears on the TV to state the mechanics of the prison-like facility. He announced the first activity, which is the game of tag. The game will have a time limit of 136 seconds. The player with possession is "it." The last player in possession of the ball, once the time runs out, will be the eliminated player.

Ryosuke Kira/Synopsis (2)

The ball is passed from one player to the other. After several passes, Bachira is it. With only 11 seconds left, Bachira chases Kira. Bachira kicks the ball in the direction of Kira, but Kira successfully dodges it. Believing that he dodged it, Kira was caught off-guard when Isagi kicked the ball once more towards him. The ball hit Kira's face with only 1 second left to spare. The game concluded with Kira as the loser.

Ryosuke Kira/Synopsis (3)

Confused and angered with the sudden betrayal of Isagi, Kira had an outburst. Kira believed that he was more worthy of staying than Isagi or Igaguri, both having the lowest ranks in Team Z. Also, he asked Ego about the importance and relevance of playing tag. Ego explained the similarities in aspects of the game of tag with football. Although reluctant at first, Kira leaves the facility. Kira is the first player in Team Z and the series to leave Blue Lock. [2]
