This announcement came with a behind-the-scenes set video, wherein Stallone speaks about an “interesting scene in Tulsa King.” While showing the set, he says that he is “not supposed to be doing this” but that he “didn’t get here by following the rules.” He refers to the sophom*ore season as “a fantastic follow up” saying “this is looking great.” In his original caption, Stallone wrote “I’m not supposed to be doing this, but I am because I’m proud of what we’re doing and the show is going to be fantastic TULSA KING SECOND SEASON. We’re coming out in early September.”

How Tulsa King Season 2 Will Raise The Stakes

Tulsa King Has Cast More Antagonists For Dwight

While Tulsa King still does not have an official release date, this post is a positive sign in the direction of the show coming sooner rather than later. Stallone’s claim is likely accurate, especially given the fact that production on the series is in full swing. In addition to the release month reveal, the scene included in Stallone’s video sounds interesting. Dwight acting as his own lawyer is bound to create conflict in Tulsa King season 2.

The elevated drama will also come in the form of a new rival for Dwight. It was reported that Yellowstone alum Neal McDonough will join the cast of Tusla King in the role of Cal Thresher. While the full details of McDonough’s character are yet to be revealed, Cal is said to be a powerful Tulsa businessman who wants to claim his territory in the city, creating friction with Dwight.

Tulsa King season 1's ending leaves Sylvester Stallone's Dwight "the General" Manfredi in a tricky situation via a major twist. Let's break it down.

Tulsa King season 2 also cast Frank Grillo as Bill Bevilaqua. This character is said to be a Kansas City mobster whose interest is piqued by the city. Between these new characters and the court scene tease, Tulsa King season 2 has clearly heightened the drama for the next season, and even if Stallone was hasty in declaring a September release, viewers won't have long to wait until the story's continuation drops.

How This Tulsa King Season 2 Scene Connects To Season 1's Ending

Season 1 Suggested Legal Trouble for Dwight

In his video, Stallone was not specific about the ins and outs of the court case that his character will face in Tulsa King season 2. The season 1 ending, however, allows for a pretty good guess as to what this case might be about. In a shocking twist, Dwight’s once-lover Stacy tattled on his bribery earlier in the series. To prove Dwight’s guilt, Stacy unveiled a flash drive Stallone’s character had given her, which granted the agent access to a bank account worth millions of dollars.

The how and why of the fact that Manfredi needs to be his own lawyer has not been revealed. With his criminal connections through the local mob ring, one would think that it would not be difficult for Dwight to find a lawyer...

The legal fallout from Dwight Manfredi’s bribery bust is likely what leads to the major courtroom scene in Tulsa King season 2. After his loyalty has already been disrupted by Stacy, Dwight will have to be isolated again in that he has to defend himself without an external lawyer. With the already-announced additional characters for Tulsa King season 2, including Cal Thresher, it seems that the sophom*ore season will see significant barriers for Dwight. Tulsa, Oklahoma was never an easy environment for the character, but it seems his challenges are just getting started.

Even though the reasons for the season 2 court case are fairly clear, there are still a number of questions hanging over the Tulsa King courtroom scene. For one, the how and why of the fact that Manfredi needs to be his own lawyer has not been revealed. With his criminal connections through the local mob ring, one would think that it would not be difficult for Dwight to find a lawyer, even if through a corrupt method. As Tulsa King season 2 arrives in a couple months, the buildup and fallout of this court scene will be enthralling.
