Looking for the sweetest tomatoes to grow?
Look no further! In this blog post, we will highlight 8 of the sweetest tasting tomatoes that you can find in the SimplySeed range. These tomatoes are perfect for snacking on or adding to your favorite recipes.
Tomatoes are rated for sweetness by use of the Brix rating, which is a measure of the sugar content in fruits and vegetables. The higher the tomato Brix rating, the sweeter the tomato will taste. All of the sweetest tomatoes in our range have a Brix rating of 8 or higher. Most of the varieties of sweet tasting tomatoes tend to be smaller fruited, so either the cherry tomatoes or the baby plum varieties. However, there are some sweet tasting varieties of larger tomatoes too.
The sweeter tomatoes are more likely to be the ones chosen by kids, as they prefer the taste to the traditional tangy tomato flavour. In fact the sweetness of tomatoes grown at home and picked fresh is unbeatable.. shop bought tomatoes taste wise come no where close to that of homegrown.
